my brothers got an 86 n/a fc...and the clucth will not fricken engage. we changed the master and slave cylnder, clucth pipe and the previous owner supposedly changed the tranny. the shifter only grinds if you try to put it in reverse... anybody know why? i need help cause its driving my brother crazy... and he drives me crazy...

 

what do you mean the clutch will not engage? Does the pedal have pressure? Will it go into gear from a stop?

If you mean it makes a grind noise when going into reverse, and that is your problem, S4s dont have a synchronized reverse, shift into first or 5th or any other gear, then reverse, problem solved.
