Unhappy Help Requested: Rotor Housings (83-85)

Well, I took the engine out of my 85 GSL this week, and upon disassembly today, found out that 2 bad things had happened.

1) When the apex seal went, it broke into about 5 pieces, one of which not only scored the hell out of the housing, but also dented one of the rotor faces

2) When I was in my youth (or during its time with the prior owners) the engine was overheated enough to cause excessive flaking/removal of the plating.

So I need 2 GOOD housings and one (or a pair if price is right) of Rotors for 83-85. The rotor I need is Front, the balancing code is S.

I know this thread will be moved, and apologize in advance for wanting the exposure.

Thanks for helping me out ya'll.

Not looking to trade parts - I'm looking to buy. Go ahead and send me pics, and if you're willing to help in spite of the fact that I don't have an SE rear - all the better

I have two imaculate (used) rotor housings. The rear housing has an area of flaking aprrox 1mm square in the dead bottom. I could get pictures in a couple of days.

I have a set of rotors with the front counter weight. I am unsure of their year (weight).

How does $200 plus shipping sound?

Ryan

Is that $200+shipping for everything mentioned? I may very well be interested. Do you know what year the rotors came from?

Reds, thank you for the offer, but I'd prefer good known housings rather than the whole engine (shipping is cheaper too ).

I'll know in a few hours if I have one locally. I'll post to the thread if it's covered.

You want to go bridgey?

Are you sure?

I've got a bridgey sitting in my 84(the hatch area) and "refurbished" rotors.........

Need an eccentric shaft, and all other accessory's.. The housings, and rotors look to have new, or BARLEY used bearings.....

I would keep it, but I cant afford the carbon seals...

I want to just sell the rotors and the housings, and get SE housings, port them, and sell the 13b 4 port bridgey on ebay

But since the housings are cut for the bridgey, they wont work, so im screwed..... sigh.....

Tell me what ya think.......

ok ok ok... maybe you missunderstood me... I have a bridgey 12a..... I have rotor housings, and plates that are bridgey'ed............

If I can just sell the housings (the part that says 12a) I could get some GSL-SE (13b) housings that I could port, and then it will be a 4 port 13b everyone craves..... but an insane bridgey!!!!

PM me if you still are interested.......

Thanx Laterz Andrew

For the record, I got myself taken care of for now. I might consider the housings/rotors if the shipping price is right.

Rotor would have an F or R stamped in the compression declevities. That should let you know, eh?

If you can't read it - it's not clean enough!

S L O W L Y.

(if at all.)

The donor car seriously has not moved since the week after NYE.

Money has been uber-tight.... but now I have a primo job, and I'm making decent money... and STEADY money.... so this project will be underway soon!

And about the housings.... no, they're not for the 4rotor.

I'm buying zyounker's 79 Widebody this weekend, and it has a 13B 4port in it already... but he doesn't know how good the housings are.... it might be time for a rebuild.... so I figure, why not go bridge? I'm gonna have the manifold for it anyway.... might as well put it to use!
