help:replacing tranny bearing

I have a little play in the front main shaft bearing on an 85 5-speed. I was told you can replace this bearing without tearing down the transmission. I removed the snap ring and the lock ring around the outside of the bearing. I can't get the bearing to break loose from the shaft itself. Is there a puller of some sort that might work so I won't have to tear things apart. The rest of the tranny is tight and shifts great. Just a small amount of play in the end of the main shaft, so I believe a new fraon main bearing will take care of it.
Thanks,
Todd

Im not sure itll come out without seperating the bell housing from the transmission.

Thanks for the info guys. Carl, I just about ready to put together my 12a. My 6-port 12a developed an dowel pin leak, so I decided to rebuild another 12a I had. Had a local guy do a mild street port, found some mint rotor housings. Everything will be new except the side seals which are in good shape. Going to be running a Holly intake with a 600 Edelbrook jetted for the 12a withy RB headers. The guy that ported the engine has rebuilt close to 100 rotary engines over the years for himself and other people and has done just about everything you can to them. He really likes the Edelbrook setup. He has an MG with a rotory that he is running a supercharger and it is putting out over 500 HP. I will try to post some pics when I begin rebuilding. It wil be my first, but I don't think I will have too much trouble. I always have the guy that did my porting and plenty of people on the forum to give me plenty of advice and help.
Thanks again,
Todd
