I know there has been a million CD player threads on this forum but here i go anyway. In my 81 gsl there is a seperate tape player and seperate radio. I am planning on putting a CD player in but the openings for the tape player and radio are not the right shape so here's what i'm going to do...
I might just cut out the tape deck, ash tray, and lighter, or i might do the whole thing idk yet. But it would be some kind of thick plastic. I'm thinking kind of like the one shown but cheaper.

Tell me what you think or any ideas or what you did in your vehicle the more detailed the better... thanks

sort of what I'm working on. I cut out everything between the clock opening and the a/c controls. I'm going to replace with kydex, search for kydex sheet on ebay, then cut out for radio/cd and guages.
