help me with my building of a 4 port 13b for my 82
Ok, a while back I started a post on a hybrid 13B 4port using a se shortblock with 74 rotor housings and 91 rotors for high compression. I have decided to scrap this project an start over due to some worries about the reliability of this setup.
Soooo, hears what Im thinking now. I want to start with a 89-91 engine so I get the High compression rotors, then use TII side housing to get the 4 ports.
I plan on running a large streetport on this whole setup.
I am not clear on a few things.
Ignition, how do I hook up a SE dizzy. is there a port for it that isnt used. I know the E shaft has the gear for it.
Clutch/flywheel, I just got a Racing beat streetstrip clutch and I would like to use it if possible. and that would mean that I wouldnt need to get a new starter, cause I just got a new one when I got my car.
Tanny, will my 82 tranny bolt up to this engine, also is a SE tranny stronger than mine, if it noticably stonger than I would probably try to find one.
What do I need to mount this engine, do I just need that mount from racingbeat?
thanks for any replies.

On the dizzy, your SE dizzy should work in there no problemo...
The clutch and flywheel im unsure about, you will have to balance the motor with appropriate flywheel counterweight.
The starter will depend on what tranny that is used, if you use a t2 tranny, you WILL need a t2 or automatic 86+ starter...

i plan on rebuilding the tranny and possible using 626 gears. But will this tranny hold up to the power of this engine,(210-225). If a SE tranny is stronger then I will try and find one.
Do in need to change the started if I use my existing tranny?

I just read on the mazdatrix website that 86-91 rotor housings have a restricting baffle in the exhaust port that is very hard to get rid of. They say that they just use turbo rotor housings when a ported exhaust is wanted.
This sux, this project is turning out to be more exspensive then expected, maybe ill just port my 12a,
I jsut want the 13b for the extra power and better sound.
