I'm having an issue with the exact same things...I saw a thread somewhere here earlier (in the archives, I think) that has excellent information on the interior lights and how to fix them. I'm going to try that myself. I was having the problem of the popping fuse and now instead of popping, the lights around the cigarrette lighter and in the ashtray stay on constantly. I disconnected the ciggarette lighter until I could fix that. When I disconnected the lighter, though, my dash lights quit working. ???

That thread can be found in the 1st gen archive under the heading "Need help on interior lights". Excellent information there. My cargo light and my glovebox lights still work. It's just acting crazy on me!! LOL

ok, Well i got the cigar clock fuse to stop blowing by fixing a short in the Dome/Map light switch...but, my the lights that light up my gauges (I.E. the Tach, Spedo, Gas, Temp, Volt, and Oil Pressure) Still dont work I pulled out the cluster and cleaned all the contacts and checked bulbs they are all good...could it be a fuseable link

I have yet to fix my gauge lighting problem, as well. I just pointed you in the direction of the map/dome light problem. I fixed mine, by the way, and she works great. I still have the issue with my gauge lights, as well. They were working when I first got the car running and all fuses are fine. There's no telling what the problem is. I still have the fuse popping every time I hook up the cig lighter, too. I'll be watching this thread. Maybe I'll find my answer here.

Thank you for the excellent documentary! I will check the wire that may be the culprit of my lighting problem as soon as I get home!!

I fixed the ciggarette lighter fuse problem by swapping out the lighter assembly itself. I was not aware that those would short out! LOL Problem solved...still haven't fixed the gauge lights. Nate83SA22, did you ever get yours functioning?? If so, what did you do?
