help me get my rebuilt engine started!

I have fuel

I have spark.

I have set the timing to 0 degrees

I have a fully charged battery on a trickle charger at all times

starter is turning the motor over around 300rpm and sounds healthy

static fuel pressure is 40psi

you said the engine "sounds healthy", but are you getting any signs of actual combustion? (i.e.: grumbling, popping, etc.)

Timing pully installed correctly? Lined up with the rivit. Do your plugs smell of fuel? Smoke coming from exhaust.

Shoot it with a little starting fluid and see if it fires. If not, your ignition is off. If it does and then shuts off, you're not getting fuel into the engine.

Jack, I am going through the same thing right now. First no spark, I replaced the ignitors and now no start. Very frustrating.

Good luck!

40 psi sounds kinda low. Do a volume test also to verify good fuel flow
