well the tach reads off the trailing ignitor so double check the connecton on those, it probilay wouldnt hurt to take them out and wire brush them a bit to get good contacts

According to jeff20B, the tach lead switched from the lead ignitor to the trailing ignitor in '81. If your car is after that year, then a dead tach is a tell-tale sign your trailing ignitor (that dead reliable ignitor... ) has gone South... Good detective work..

well, i found the hesitating problem, i was running out of gas and my fuel gauge is fucked up. it was reading about a quarter of gas and this morning i start the car and just about a mile after started to hesitate really bad but i looked the air fuel meter and is was reading really lean. so i stop the car, knock the gas tank and it was empty. the miracle part was were i stop was in a gas station. so i filled it up, the gauge is still reading quater full. the hesitating stop but what is bite me of is why the tach as jumping in that moment o well it fixed thanks for the help

The tach would be jumping because the motor is trying to stall from lack of fuel, but the wheels moving is still turning the engine.... nothing to worry about.

probably corrosion on the sender. if you pull the electrical connection on the tank the prongs on the sender are probably rusted. if that isn't it you will need to drop the tank and pull the sender out to clean it and free it.

well i pulled today the cover in the wheel well were i can reach the sender to check and one of the cable broke, and the plug is full of acid probably that why the gauge is reading 1/4 full but i dont have to worry about it for now. i just buy a new sender and some plugs. thanks again
