help with engine plz!!!

hey all
so lets see first off my car was running great until yesterday, when i started it my gauges were all goin crazy and the engine was studdering and hard running... the gauges are working fine now but the engine is idling at like 500 instead of the usual 1000-1100 um it is still studdering and i have no power...and also when i turn it off about 10 seconds after it will let out a backfire, but not a loud one, it kinda farts it out lol, so ya wut do you guys suggest? should i just get it checked out at mazda or do u have any suspetions?

take out the leading spark plug in one rotor and crank it over, it should have 3 even pulses

do this to both rotors, all pulses should sound the same, if not then you need to find someone with a compression tester and get some hard numbers (dealership)

help wiith engine plz!!!

I know that your suppose to take the needle out of the compression tester to get an accurate reading, but first I would do the test by taking the plug out and cranking it over, if all pulses are equal then worry about using a gauge.

You can use a regular compression gauge. Just take out the shrader valve and measure 3 pulses per rotor. Tell us what you get.
