GA Help choosing the proper wideband setup?

I've been working on my blowthrough 12a for a while now and I'm pretty close to turning it over for the 1st time. I need to know what wideband kits are best suited for a blowthorugh application, or does it matter? In a sense, I'd just like to see what has worked for other 12a turbo builds? Thanks!

It's not really application specific. I have an AEM UEGO and I like it. Someone on here linked me to a new setup they have now that is both a boost gauge and a wideband with a failsafe trigger. I thought it would be great for a blowthrough with no knock sensor. You can find them a little cheaper on eBay and other places.

Make sure you mount the sensor a few feet down from the back of the turbo so it won't get fried.

That AEM gauge is pretty awesome looking Lizard!

I've heard good things about the AEM UEGO and will probably be getting one of them for my setup, whether I go TII or stay 12a. I thought about the Auto Meter Ultra Lite as well but would rather pay for the quality of the AEM.

I've been leaning toward the AEM wideband. I'd hate to break up all of the Autometer gauges I have, but oh well. Thanks for the tip on the sensor location. I'll have to plug the closest bung to the turbo, or use it for an EGT gauge.

its a little more expensive, but the stability of the data output is rock solid.

I was also looking at a touch gauge system from PLX. I haven't heard much about it and wonder if it has a failsafe feature.

I run an Innovate LCM-1 in my rx, and have installed several more in local cars, they have all performed flawlessly.

widebands are pretty easy.

there are only 3 sensors that are commercially available, the NTK sensor, which was OEM on the 92-95 honda civic VX model, and the two bosch sensors the LSU 4.2 and the LSU 4.9.

the NTK is a fast reacting sensor, however its old and expensive.

the LSU 4.2 was the stock sensor in most VW/Audi products in the early 2000's, the sensor is cheap, but its meant for VW's so its slow and stupid (relatively)

the LSU 4.9 is the newer version, its slightly better than the 4.2, but not earth shatteringly so.

so how do you buy a wideband? well if you find one with an NTK sensor, its fine, like the NGK AFX.

all the other ones use the same bosch sensor, so they should all be the same.
