Exclamation Help With batter disconnect wiring

Hey Guys, I have an 84 12A, Ive searched and read a bunch, went out and bought a 4 post cutoff switch. The car has been gutted and rewired, everything works except when i flip the switch off the car continues to run, if i pull the battery it continues to run. When the engine is off and the switch is off no power is found in the car so something with the alternator wiring is providing power to the car.

I wired battery to one of the big posts, starter and things that need power to the other big post, the big alternator wire to one of the small posts and the jumper from the other small post back to the battery post.

The black with white stripe wire from the small plug on the alternator goes to a fuse,

-where does the white with black stripe from the small plug on the alternator go?
-is the black with stripe the one supposed to go to the small posts to interrupt the alt?

I got the 4 post to not spike the alternator like many have said on the forum but i need some help with getting it to work properly.

Cheers All

The problem is that the ignition hot wire is still powering the coils. I suspect the hot wire from the
ignition is not going through the switch or theres another path that isn't. When it does this
start from the coil and see what stops it when you start disconnecting things or use a DVM to
see where the power is coming from.

could the power be feeding back from the black with white wire from the connector into the fuse box and out to the coils? this seems lik the only part that isnt switched from the car?

You can pull the T shaped connector off the back of your alternator. This will stop the engine. The problem is in the alternator. Perhaps a bad diode.

I came up with a 5 pin relay mod that will fix this until another alternator is swapped in. I have yet to test it. You basically connect a condensor to pin 87A so it goes to ground when you shut off the key. This will let the remaining power in the system ground out. Again I haven't tested this yet so no guarantees. I disclaim all responsibility if your car burns down while trying my suggestion.
