Unhappy >>>>>>>>>help<<<<<<<<<<<<

I'm trying to put on a mechanical oil pressuse gauge (stock gauge dont work) and i cant find the stock port on the oil cooler where the oil filter is. No bell looking thing . Where is it ? #2 There is only 1 oil line going to it. It comes from the front of the motor to the back of the oil cooler. Shouldn't thair be a line going from the oil cooler down to the back port on the motor as well ? help!
Note: this is a 83 GSL with a 79 motor in it

For an aftermarket Oil Pressure sender, you will either need to RE-Tap the stock sender location (not recommended) or get a Racing Beat Block.

It comes with two ports for any additional senders. I mounted the Autometer sender to the back of this one, and the stock dash gauge to the stock location.

In the picture below, you can see the afterone mounted on the Racing Beat Block, and the stock Mazda one onto the rear plate.

I've seen the RB plates for the TII and so on but, your setup doesn't have the stock oil cooler on it. I can see your bell and it almost looks like it's going into the motor itself, is that right? Like my 13b.
And what about the oil lines from the stock cooler/filter should'nt there be one going in the back from the frount and one going from the frount of the cooler to the back of the motor?

This is a Cosmo (13B-RE) engine. It's a little like a Frankenstein since it has parts that are 1st Gen, 2nd Gen, 3rd Gen, and Cosmo on it.

On a 1st gen with the front mount oil cooler (like I have) The lines for the Oil Cooler are actually low, and do not go to the Oil Filter plate.

The piece you see in my picture is from a Cosmo, so it has an oil cooler line going out of it straight to the Oil Cooler.

The return line from the Oil Cooler goes into the front cover.

If your setup question is for a TII, you might have better luck in the 2nd Gen section, I can't speak for everyone here, but my knowledge is limted on the FC's.

Sorry about the mix up Direct in making you think I was talking about my TII.
I'm talking about my 1st gen '83 with a '79 motor in it. Lets forget about the gauge for now and just work on the oil lines. How should the oil lines run, I'm am assume 1 line in and 1 line out. Yes?? This car I just got have 1 line in and no out!
Thank for all your help so far.

Yes, your front mount air cooled oil cooler should be mounted under the radiator.

If so, the top line should return to the front of the engine.

The bottom line of the oil cooler should go to the bottom part of the engine's rear plate.

If you have the water cooled (actually heated) oil cooler mounted just under the oil filter, then I don't know how that one is routed.

I think the water/oil cooler works like a fountain. The oil flows up into the filter through the middle of it. It then goes through the filter element, and works its way down the ouside of the filter. Then through the cooler, and out the single line you see. I could be wrong, thats just how I imagine it to work.

Hope these pics illustrate my idea of how this might work. Like I said, I might be wrong, and dont take my representation of the cooler litterly. I just was trying to illustrate the point.
