Unhappy Help 12a wont start!

Ok, I drove the car to work all week and it would start right up every time. Parked it, next morning wouldn't fire. Later in week tried to start......nothing. Has spark, dumped gas down carb it started to turn then it wouldn't even turn over. Not the battery or the starter ,its like the engine is locked. Tried to push start it and th tires would just drag and wouldn't turn the engine. Its like its locked up. WTF? Ran fine one night wouldn't start next morning!!!

The motor won't turn I tried to push start it and it would barely turn the back tires.

So the starter does nothing? Grab a belt or the crank pulley and try to turn the motor with the plugs out. If you get nothing the motor is probably locked for whatever reason

try pulling it with a truck, suburban, van, etc. Pull it in 2nd gear with the clutch in, then pop it to pull start it(make sure the ignition is ON). That should get it going. If it doesnt start after that then you got serious problems.

Maybe you have some freak accident where a apex seal broke/chipped due to the starter turning it and now it's pinned...

I know...ridiculous and out there but hey...why not. =]

If the tires are sliding when the car is being puled, it's either a broken/tossed apex seal of something has fallen into the intake.

When you put it in neutral the back tires move right? (assumption).

It sounds like my car when an apex seal went about 3 weeks ago. It ran fine and then it just died.

It sucks to hear about your car..

If it makes you feel any better I have a project going on my 82 gsl; It's been sitting in a garage for 12 years after the motor "flamed out" (my grandparents words). Im pretty sure it needs a complete engine rebuild.

Hope I made your day better O.o

Just put it in nuetral, and try to turn the front pulley by hand. If it doesn't move, then start looking for a used motor. Or, if you've got the bucks to spend, start researching how to rebuild and maybe port the one you've already got. However, if the motor blew, and jammed up, then rebuilding would require some new parts which may not be cheap. I'd source a used replacement myself (in fact, I just did this past fall).

Good luck...
