Hello and thanks

Hey y'all this is my first post on this board but I've been visiting for about a week now. Just wanted to say thanks for the FAQ pages and the information available there. I acquired my car (84 GSL) about a month ago and she was running terribly. I want to thank Puaka (a friend who also uses thi board) for helping me diagnose the original problem (no secondaries, shutter valve stuck closed) and remove the rats nest. I also found the thread about converting to mechanical secondaries very helpful and did this last week. The improvement in acceleration is significant.
At this time the mods to car are as follows;
Racing beat header (not sure which one)
3 inch exhaust all the way back
rear koni adjustables with racing beat springs
Mechanical secondary conversion
front strut tower brace (made by me)
some idiot put 15x7 4x108 rims on it.(rides like ****) they have to go asap.
Thats all for now. Later, Dirtleg

3" too big? What would be a better size pipe to run? Would I make more power with a true dual exhaust? If so what size? Too many Questions? Help I'm Stuck?

2" from the ports. If you collect them, make it go into a 2 1/2" .

Yep that would be my suggestion.. 3 inch is too big and too loud for a N/A rotary you loose velocity.

So if i were to go turbo 3" be allright you think? Hmm. Also from back in my chemical plant days a 3" pipe carrying a high viscosity fluid would flow roughly double that of a 2" pipe carrying the same fluid at the same backpressure. Not that it would translate in exactly the same way with an exhaust but still I wonder at times. Anyone have a yay-nay on the true dual idea. Rotary tuning is new to me and I'm just soaking up as much info as possible right now. (every reply turns into more questions. I need help)

Well in an exhaust your dealing with pulses, not constant flow. You want maximum velocity with minimum restriction. You cant really have both. So you tune for the RPM band you expect to operate in. I hear true duals work great on stock ported engines, at the expense of more noise, but have no personal experience with them. 3" is what I see alot of turbo guys run, but thats another area I'm not overly versed in.
