The air pump provides cooling air to the catalytic converter. Remove it and you run the risk of overheating the cat, which from the overheat light coming on is already happening.

I'm a woman, and there's no way in hell I'd paint my boy PINK! Especially not THAT pink! That's just wrong and disrespectful to our cars! If you absolutely must paint it pink, can you at least darken it some, maybe add more red to it?

go with the red and welcome to the forum. hope you find all you seek in the pages of advice.

 

Make sure you paint it a really BRIGHT pink, that way when your catalytic converter overheats and the element breaks up, it will be that much easier for the TOW TRUCK TO FIND YOU.

 

aw its no ther fault that she doent have her air pump on there any more the guy who she bought it from took it off. im trying to get her to put a header and exh on there, and everything will be ok.

 

So Wankel, you're saying that if Rox goes with the catalytic converter camoflage (spelling?) red color that the 7 will be too disguised when her cat overheats from the hot pink? She might need a hunter orange front end car bra. I still favor the cherry red Marvel Mystery Oil to Pepto Bismol in my oil pan and gas tank. I have not seen a car color generate so much chat in a long time. Go Panthers. Cats over Pats.

and well, to Wankel, i wish the worst of luck to you too, in the future i can't very well take my car back and tell the guy to put the air pump back on. i will be sure to fix the problem as soon as i can afford to.
