heavy oxidation on wheels

no easy way, some use paint remover to remove clear coat,, followed by lots of elbow grease,,get a small cloth polishing wheel for a drill and use a gritty polishing compound,,,but be ready for lots of work....it will pay off...

Hell Manntis, $30 a wheel ain't bad considering it'd probably take the average Joe with average tools a few hours per wheel to do show quality work. I think my time is well worth the $10/hour to pay some one else to do it. Not to mention you walk away with nice lookin' wheels, and no sore neck or back.

He's been doing it forever, and is a frikkin' magician at it. You bring in rims with road rash, or chunks missing along the bead, and he welds in new metal and polishes it up to factory condition (with a better-than-factory shine) for just a couple of hundred bucks. The polishing takes him not that long by comparison.
I hung out with him at a recent Super SLalom event and he offered to polish my intake manifold and Dynamic Effect Chamber for a total of $50. Catch is, I hafta remove and reinstall it, so I'd be car-less for a few days.

there is a member at mazspeed.com, his name is JeryJ and he can tell you all about restoring the wheels. I think it involves stripping them, rubbing them with rouge(sp?) till your blue in the face, then the option of a clear coat.
