No relay for those. Check all fuses 1st. I remember on my SE, when one of the fuses was blown (can't remember which), the lights for the heater/ac controls would barly light up and when you switched between bi-level, vent, etc. the motor behind there would just kind of buzz. I do remember that the name of the fuse seemed like it had nothing to do with those controls.

Another option is that it is your ignition switch going bad or needs to have its contacts cleaned. From what I can see, these systems look like they get power off of the same contact. Also check the grounds behind the radio and such. Pretyy much all of the grounds for these things get tied together at some point.

Wiring diagrams are here ('84 and '85 are the same):

These forums are not highly populated as an average... I dunno, honda forum is? It takes a while to get some quality posts.

And no, you cannot install VTEC on your rotary. The valves just will not allow it.

Anybody have another suggestion? I have the EXACT same problem with my rx7, but in addition to his my ignition is cutting out also.

the ignition stops working while driving the car, if i turn the car off and turn it on again it starts working again. or, if i disconnect the signal wire coming from the ignitor and plug it back in while the car is still running (at the coil), it starts working again - which leads me to believe the problem isnt the ignition switch. (my current setup is with an MSD ignition firing the leading plugs (1 coil each) and the trailing ignition is stock). i had this problem with the fan and wipers before i put the msd box in.

the wipers and the ac fan, turn car off and back on - they are working again also.

any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Pull the ign switch apart and clean the contacts. It is held on to the back of the keyswitch by a small screw. since there are no relays, all the power for everything has to go through those 25year old contacts.

clean the ignition switch and check the battery to body ground. most dim or no power problems are related to bad grounds.

Check the contacts on the fuse box. My fan used to work one day then not the next. Fuse was fine. Problem was dirty contacts in the box itself. I figured it out by pulling the fuse and putting it back in. Once I cleaned the contacts it works great.
