The vent to the left of my steering column only is blowing cold air (pretty fierce tooo) all the time, even when the heat is on full blast and hot from the floor &/or defogger settings..???
Just looking for some clues before I divuldge into it tommora... thnx.

That vent is tied directly to the fresh air intake under the winsdshield cowl where the wiper motor is. The lever on the side of the vent frequently breaks or becomes disconnected from the flap door that closes off the intake. My wideboby has the same issue. I think you can repair it by removing the lower panel cover that has the mirror, hatch and fuel door switches, choke ****, etc.. I haven't gotten that far on mine yet. The **** on the lever pulls straight off.

Thanks Trichoid... I haven't looked at it yet either & it's finally getting cold here which is a good thing, car runs GREAT, but the cold air on my left hand while I'm steering gotta go.
What's with the heater controls...??? There's a setting for vent, bi level, heat, two arrows, and defogger. To have heat come out of mid-dash area only I would use the vent setting...??? It's MUCH hotter when I have it on heat setting and it's coming out of the floor vents...

It will come off the floor vents. I have the same issue with mine. But, you get used to it. And, you can also pop off your vent on the left, reach in there, and push the flap up. I did that on mine, because mine broke as well. Also, don't be surprised if you hear some rustling in there. That would be some leaves that managed to get in there via the wiper cowl. And, since I park my car under a tree, it tends to be more frequent.
