Rx-7 Information
Hello. I am 17 and thinking about buying a 1993 rx7 to fix up and treat it like my babe. Um I have a concern about what I have heard on the net. I first wanted a supra 96' but like the way rotary is a lot smaller and smoother. but.....
1. I heard that it has a problemb with blowing.
2. Also problemb with heat.. but I can deal with that.
3. Main one Breaks down a lot.
If you can give me some help to change my mide and let me know every thing is cool with the car.... I would like it....
Also I will be putting:
Twin T78 Turbos on it.
Toyo Radiator.
And lots more..
Thank you,
Jace

Why get one of those when you can put that on a down payment on a hardly used RX8 or new. You can find a nice RX8 sports package for 23 atleast. Check autotrader. But mainly, in your shoes in all honest umm...start with a casket

With 10k you are not going to find an FD thats worth it if thats all you have to spend. You'll need money saved for fixing it and whatnot, and 10k is simply not enough for an FD. Sure you may find one, but unless you are REALLY lucky, a 10k FD is most likely not the best choice to go with unless you have an extra couple grand sitting around to fix stuff with.

Why don't you drive a rotary powered car and find out for yourself which car you will buy. Only you can make the decision. Be warned though that an RX will be costly to maintain. Better off you pick up the Supra, IMO...

10k, expect around 13+ preferrably around 16 for a good FD, then another 2k set aside for immediate reliablity mods, then some mroe money set for future work on the car(this will come very fast)
as someone previously stated start with an FC because the FDs are pieces of **** in terms of reliablility, its really only suitable as a second car.

Hey man, the best advise I can give you is save up a little bit more cash that way you can get your FD. I know what our going through I bought my FD when I was 17, I paid 14,500. It had 50,000 miles at the time and its the R1 model.

supras are even more expensive than fd's nowadays
listen to the advice of experienced people. go w/ a nice fc, they're excellent cars, cheap and real fun and can be quite fast. if you can't go over 10k then fd's no good for you; you'll buy one for 8 grand and blow the motor on the way home. if you have 20k than you can pick up a well-conditioned fd w/ all the reliability mods and everything in order, but you can't put on your t78 turbo's w/o investing thousands more, or otherwise you'll blow the motor on the way to school
