Angry headlights wont go up or on

they worked before and now i took my switch off and cleaned all the contacts and put it back together and put the switch on and then it worked for a while then i went to check it again and the lights wouldnt go up or on. i took the switch off again and cleaned it another time and still had the same problem. and the fuse is good. im pissed. what am i doing wrong is there another fuse somewhere or may it be a relay? i can manualy put the lights up and when i flip the center counsel switch they go down but wont go up. im so confused. please help.
thanks

Sounds like your switch just went bad. Try a different one if you can.

fuseable link on an 85GS is inside the fender just ahead of the strut tower drivers side soft covered loops , three in and out of a box, Then check the grounds then a switch. Been there and done that ,, wiggle everything on the light harness.
