Headlight squirters

I have yet to see headlight washer squirters on any other FB than mine, I don't know if mine were added after the dealer sold it or if it was a GSL option. They don't work so they're coming off anyway but I'm just curious.

they are oem on canadian models. the u.s. models did not have them. the only u.s. 7 that i personally know of that has the squirters is the 88 10th anniversary. i know this because i have one and the headlight washers are pretty fun.

I believe the headlight squirters were also available in Australia and possibly Europe, but definitely not in the states. Canadian models that had them were the '81 to '83 GX (that's what the GSL package was called in Canada prior to the '84 models), the '84 and '85 GSLs and the '84 - '85 GSL-SE.

They do look good, but are pure gadgetry and really don't do much to remove dirt. For that you'd also need the little headlight wipers that are found on some luxury European makes.

I think the latest generation of OEM headlamp washers uses high pressure to provide good cleaning without wipers.

Maybe on newer cars, but in '85 they were nothing more than a placebo. They might work on water splashed up from a mud puddle, but once dirt and salt have had enough time to dry onto the lens it would take one hell of a high-pressure jet of water to remove without wipers.
