header gasket

im getting a rb dual outlet header for my 12a, and was wondering....do i need to get a special gasket for it, or can i just use a new factory manifold gasket?

and what about the other end...the dual outlet. i'll have to have a y pipe made for this, is there a special gasket i need to get for this end? i remember my other fb i had, i had an exhaust made at a shop from the manifold back, and the gasket they used from the manifold to the custom pipe, kept blowing out. i had to keep replacing it about every 3 months. i guess i could check RB's site

they should send a gasket with the header, i have the dual to single header and mine came with a gasket. as far as the other end, i'm pretty sure it just bolts up to the exhaust.

no it doesnt have to be from racing beat, but you can order one from them. it probably would be better though for a better seal.

ok, so a regular gasket that would be used on a factory exhaust manifold will work with the header then?

Yes. I even use them in my 13-B (cut the 12-A gasket in hafl) since my local dealer is always out of 13-B gasket.
