Header Fit-up

Hey everyone, I am kind of a newbie here. I am doing an exhaust install on an SA (first mod with this car) and was wondering if anyone has ever had any fit-up issues with a Racing Beat header.

Thanks,
Keith

No, my RB header bolted up really nicely. I didn't have any fitmet problems whatsoever. What's wrong with yours?

i had to modify the rest of the exhaust system since i used a RB street port header and stock-length piping. had to take about 6 inches out of my test pipe.

when i installed the header in my SA i had to extend the hole on that little hanger near where the header conncects to the heat exchanger to make it mate with the corresponding hanger on the car.

Getting the thermal reactor off is a pain in the *** on SA's. The upper left bolt is near impossible to get off unless you remove the intake manifold. After i got the nut broken loose it took about 45 minutes at 1/16th of a turn and switching wrenches between turns to get it off. The header fit fine though

I gave up and took it to a shop after wasting an entire morning on that mother-******* bolt. The guy who took it off had some super-thin walled U joint sockets and was able to get a good grip on it, but it still took him a decent amount of time.

It's a good thing he was a member of my local Solo II club, otherwise that would have been a really expensive job.

Thats all crazy, I got all 4 of them off in about 10 mins. I had the header welded in about 2 hours. I used a wivel socket or a swivel joint on a socket will work to. I think its best to try it from underneath.

The two bolts on the top of the flange are fine. The bottom two are barely on the flange.

As for the bolts around the thermal reactor, I didn't have an issue with the getting those off of the car. But they are a little tight.

And by the way, Supertrapps are WAY loud. I'll be taking half of the discs out tomorrow.
