header on 13b vs 12a?
Someone told me that by putting a header and free flowing exhaust on a stock 12a you could see a gain of 20hp. If this is close to being correct, then would I see about the same on a 13b?
Reason I ask is a friend is considering trading me his somewhat beatdown GLS-SE (though runs great) for my GS. By beatdown I mean the body has a few small dents and the interior needs work but the car runs great and hauls @ss.
What do you guys think?

I have an SE and recently put a RB header, presilencer, and exhaust on. RB tells me that just the header alone won't do squat, as each stock component (exhaust manifold, cats, and muffler) contributes to restrictive flow.
However, you get a header and power pulse muffler (with nice looking tailpipes I might add) with a pipe or presilencer and you're laughing - this is true for 12A systems as well.
I recommend the presilencer as it has the fitting for the air valve feed that opens the 5th & 6th ports in the 13B at high RPM.
There's a DEFINATE difference with the complete system installed.

EX Pres of DFW Drunks
agreed.... installed just a Bonez Cat w/ power pulse muffler on my old SE, and that made a huge difference by itself.
On my new -SE I installed the full RB dual systems and it made an even bigger difference. Huge smiles...
Sorry my butt dyno is a little off, but G-tech comparisons.
old -se w. powerpulse and Bonez cat 16.3
New -SE stock, 16.7
New -SE RB system 16.1
Keep in mind that the old one is several lbs lighter since the interior is gone. The road was the same, and the same weight was used for each car. The raod wasn't all that level, so just use the #'s for comparision with each other, not with a real 1/4 mile, and my driving probably isn't all that consistant anyway.

Any rotary will respond very well to opening up the exhaust, even more so than typical in a piston car. I recommend it to everyone. Plus they sound cooler:d

I personally went with air-pump opperated 5th&6th ports aftering the rb header and a free-flowing exhaust setup, not sure If I needed too tho, but, HOLY CRAP, does it every haul *** now
