Head lights wiring?

Anyone know what wires are needed to power the headlights and the colors? I did an engine conversion and basically went on a cutting spree and cut the wires to the headlights and have nothing run to them. Plus looking at all the wiring diagrams just confuse the hell out of me, it just looks like a giant mess to me lol. Car is an 85 gs 12a

FWIW:

Low Beam--RY (Red w/Yellow stripe)
High Beam--RL (Red w/Blue stripe)
Ground--B (Black)

The RL and RY wires should go into the Combination Switch on the steering column.

You can see the relevant circuit diagram on page 15-29 of the 1985 Workshop Manual (FSM).

Make sure to get your dimmer right as well. If that fails you have no dash lights - it happened to me once. I just hotwired them to be on high and put the switch back in so it looks like it works

I think at this rate I may just toggle switch my headlights. I am going to be redoing the gauge cluster anyway lol. I hooked up the wires to the appropriate color and not getting any power, busted out the multimeter to see if i got anything with brights on and off key on key off getting no power. My headlights and interior lights are currently working, headlights are just being a pain lol.
