Hawk pads on the fronts only???

Will it make much of a difference if i run hawk pads on the front only? Or will i see that much more of a performance difference if i run them all the way around? Anyone running them on the fronts only? Let me know.

i seem to recall that our cars with stock discs have a rearward brake bias (something you dont really want), so running better pads on the front corrects that partially...

but a prop. valve would be a much better tool for that task.

You run your Hawk pads all the way around or just on the front?

actually at the moment i'm not running any hawk pads because i dont want to put them on my old, nasty glazed rotors... and waste them.

i'm waiting for either time to take them all off and have them turned, or get a full replacement set.

Anyone else have any experience with these pads?

Don't use the HP+ pads for the street, they dust like crazy. They bite nicely, but are loud and very hard on the rotors from what I understand.

I think the HP's are a better pad for the street.

I've heard similar things about the HP+ pads. Basically, if you use them then don't complain about replacing your rotors.

I'm running the Hawks all the way around.. with new powerslot rotors up front..I also have steel braided lines all around though. I can "stop on a dime" now.. but then again my old rotors were 2mm off spec and pads weren't in great shape either. I've only had them on for about 4 months and I drive the car about once a week only.. so if they wear out my rotrs.. it'll be a while anyways...to sum it up.. the brakes are really nice..even better than my 02 SI's brakes I would say.

I'm running Hawk HPS pads (front) and stock pads (rear). This combination is much better than stock pads front and rear - there is no dust problem at all, and the stopping distance is significantly shorter than stock. I'm very happy with this combo.

Replacing the "flex" portion of the brake lines with braided s/s brake lines is a good investment. It was a little surprising that the combo of s/s lines + stock pads didn't make a big difference in stopping distance, but when I switched to HPS pads it was excellent.

I have Hawk HP+'s on the front and cheap AutoZone pads on the rear of the AutoX beater...Only reason was because I was broke when I put the GSL rear on. When I get the money, I'll get some new rotors and some HP+'s for the rear. The current combo doesnt seem too bad, but I'm sure HP+'s in the rear will be better.

I circuit race my car with Front Hawks HP+ and stock drums in the rear...

This weekend I cracked my first set of brake discs because of bad front brake ventilation I had switched to 15" wheels that are solid and had no ventilation...

Hawks brake pads are the best pads u can get...even if you only get the fronts.

Im kinda confused about all the different types though...Which ones are the best for general purpose aggressive street and very little racing?

The HPs? Hp+s? Black? Blue? Pea-green with purple polka dots?

Hawk Blacks and Blues aren't really street pads... they bite amazingly well once you reach their operating temperature range, which is hard to do for normal street driving... The HP's and HPS's are good for the street though and I've also heard wonderful things about EBC GreenStuff's, though I've never personally tried them...
