Has anyone used RB's lightweight housings?

I saw on the racing beat web page they make lightweight rotor housings, that they claim to be just as strong as stock (i think thats the claim anyways).

Well i was wondering, if i had a few extra thousand dollars, if i these would be a good investment? What are your thoughts on them.

Heres the link to RB's website:

Yea I saw those in the new RB catalog. If I hit the lottery I'd buy a set. Great weight savings for an all out racer. IMHO, they shoulda been that way from Mazda from the start, but I understand cost constraints and metalurgy back then wasnt as good.

When I was at Sevenstock I asked Jim Mederer what the advantages of using these housing in a street application would be. Specificly cooling, longevity, and everuones favorite HP increase.

He informed me that these plates are modeled after the 13g plates. The only differances between them and stock are small oil passage changes and no block drain for the coolant on the center plate. These housing were made for the sole purpose of RACING. Were the differance of 25 lbs in a motor WILL make a differance.

On that same note there is no down side to using them in a street application, other than cost, no block drain for the coolant, and very suseptable to warpage if you even remotly get them hot.

Just more to ponder the world of the rotory engine!!
