Has Anyone been to the dragstrip recently...???

Last time I been there was 3 years ago and my 2nd gen n/a was a pig. 17.89 lol It was still fun though Same year differnet weekend My first gen n/a went 14.5 and I'm FINALLY ready to go back before this winter comes. My brothers running a low 13 in his Camaro but it's a sled... I need to catch him... NOW. I think I'm going to put my 85 on a diet tommorow.

Does Anyone Know what times I could achieve in a 1st gen with a n/a set-up.

Realisticly...?

In a 1/4 mile time at the dragstrip....?

I want to know if It's actually possible to give him a *** wooping this season. Or should I wake up from my pipe dreams

Ohhh and I should already know the answer to this.. but Which hole gives the most accurate reading on a compression test Trailing or Leading..??? thnks a bunch

you said you were running 14.5 in your n/a FB before... is this not the same fb you have now? if not, you should still have a good idea of what it can do. if you don't have a port job then your best bet is high 14's. if this guy is running 13's i'm sorry but it's not happening. unless you are ported with supporting mods. i dunno, not enough info

altho, your sig says you have an FB turbo.... why aren't you running it?

oh: and do your comp. test on the leading

Depends on what your setup is. There are all motor FB's in the 10's, but those are 10000rpm redline, peripheral port beasts not road worthy. More info on your engine will help, but unless you have a brideport with some lightening of the chassis (about 400 lbs off should do it), you won't catch him. A streetportn 13B 4 port generally runs a mid 14 I believe with stock body and a general rule of thumb is that for every 100 lbs you take off your car, you can gain a 10th of a second. So if you managed to get your car to 2000 lbs, you would be looking at a high 13 to low 14 if this is the engine you have.

i cant predict any times because i dont have the dragging experience, but if all you want to do is beat your one friend, you could bottle-feed your baby...

oh, and by the way you could check out this acceleration calculator. I dont know how accurate it is... but its worth a shot if you know what kind of power youre layin down

I gave up on the turbo situation... I couldn't get all the bugs worked out and I gave up. The car is back to n/a and so is my signature.

It's a older 13B 4port with a YAW nikki, RB headers, Holley pump, Nitto Drag radials, GSL-SE rearend, TII transmission, leightweight flywheel, ACT 4puck unsprung clutch...

The car ran a 14.5 last time I was at the track with a 13B 6port and a Dellorto. It didn't have the leightweight fly and ACT clutch with a 12A tranny instead of a TII and no GSL-SE gearing. Also it wasn't tuned worth ****.

I'm thinking of getting some 4.88's and going back to 12A transmission for some shorter gearing.

I still need to know Trailing or leading on a compression test... hehehe thnks
