Hard start
Since having my holley tunned I've had to bump up my idle on a cold start and turn the fuel mixture screws out about 4 turns to get it to idle when cold. It still takes a bit of accel for about a min to keep it going, then its ok... I'm concerned for 1, that its gonna be running to rich when warm and idling to high; and 2, if my compression was getting low, would it be harder to start when it was warm? It fires right up when its warm. I'll probably end up installing a choke, but before tunning it would start up easier when cold. I know it was running ALOT richer before the tune because I went smaller jets for primary and secondaries to get it to run correctly at high rpm.
What do you holley guys say? Please no hate spam about get a webber. I would love a webber, but for the time being I'm stuck with my holley.
cheers,
heb.

dude, dont worry about the start. you need more gas to keep the carb going when it's cold. all a choke does is force more gas in a sense. i just deal with it. it takes at most, what... 5 minutes? keep it the way it was tuned, if you're getting maximum performance then the hassle of having to give it gas for warm up is worth it.
