You can get a Bosch or Hella kit at any aftermarket store

screws right in place of stock 7" round lamps, and bulbs plug into stock harnesses.

I recommend these: http://www.rocky-road.com/ipfH4.html. For one the housings are glass, and for two the Magic J bulbs put out the same light as a full H4 conversion, but put no extra load on the factory harness.

I ordered the glass ones from Rocky Road 4x4's website. With the "magic-J" bulbs it came to $127.

I'll let everyone know how they work after installing them...

The Bosch kit is like $80.00CND, and comes with the H4 Bulbs.

I don't know about the Hella kit tho

With the Bosch H4 conversion it just plugs into your stock harness - safely!

And the Bosch lenses are plastic, not glass. Less problems with shattering, less weight.

No, the Magic J bulbs and the 55/60 H4s run on the stock harness. The magic J bulbs are what I am running on my car, they are the best value on the site.
Plastic lenses have a problem, they don't hold up to the heat from some of the higher wattages. Glass also puts the light out better.

Cibie, Bosch, and Hellas are the only ones to get.

Those third-world knock-offs are a joke.

How is IPF a third world knockoff? ARB, of which IPF is a subsidiary, is a major name in off-road technology. Anything that runs at Dakar and Baja is more than welcome on my car.

you're thinking of HIDs. H4s don't get hot enough to melt the plastic lenses on the Bosch kits, and the beam pattern is great. I had 'em for a year with no complaints nad highly recommend em

rx7powergen1: if they are just inserts and came with no wiring harness I definitely recommend the IPF Magic J's off of Rocky Road outfitters.

I had a guy at a marine shop tell me that the plastic housings don't hold up to heat from anything over 80/110. Maybe he was just a dork though.
