GSLSE Engine Pictures

I have this 13B GSLSE engine and transmission awaiting the perfectly matching rolling chassis or some other emergency. Names are from various FSM. Can you find all these things in the
84 Factory Service Manual

Someone should do a write up.

I'm sure I don't have to ask for comments.

This will be helpful when I do a J-spec RE-SI conversion (it's the jap version of the GSL-SE engine found in the later HB Cosmo).

Nicely done 74RX4, looks like you just volunteered. Welcome to the archive club, the few, the proud, the rotards that have no life outside of the passion for spinning Doritos.

As a side note, the oil line is not correctly plumbed since the SE's had no beehive oil cooler. The line coming off of the front cover goes to the FMOC, the return line then connects to the rear iron.

Yeah, the line from the front cover goes to the top fitting on the oil cooler. The bottom fitting goes to the bottom of the rear plate.

That 12a is in better condition than the junker that I bought off some guy for $100, which then sat in my backyard in the elements for 3 years... and I got a full set of housings out of it!

So yeah, your 12a doesn't look bad either.

That wasn't fair. Its the stock carbed 13B 4 port and automatic transmission which came out of my 76 Cosmo with 70,000 miles.

I take pictures all the time. I just took some time to label them this weekend while I was watching football games.

LOL, trust Jeff to simply take a glance at an engine and know what year it is. He's the resident engine identifier guru.

The thing that tipped me off that it was a '78 engine was the lack of an oil pressure switch. It looked like it had a 1/8" BSP plug. The '76 Cosmo engines have the switch. Yours clearly has the plug.

It also appears you have lots of silly mud bees in your area.
