GSL-SE Will 16x8 + 26 wheels fit the rear?

For you guys running 8 inch wheels in the back of a gsl-se suspension.....what offsets are you running with keeping the wheel inside the fender?

I'm looking at getting some wheels I found but not sure if they will fit without sticking past the fenders. the front's are 16x7 + 25 and the rear are 16x8 + 26. I think the fronts should be about flush but it's the rears I'm worried about. I'm all about the flush look but really don't want them to stick out past the fenders.

This is on a gsl-se so I can't go as low on the offset as the non se. Please don't answer if you don't have a gsl-se or gsl-se suspension (or have tried it on the se suspension) as these type's of threads can get confusing when people with non se's start answering. I appreciate all the help but just don't want it to get confusing.....lol

Thanks for the help guys. Feel free to add pics if you have them

I think +26 on an 8 inch wheel would leave about 5" of backspace if that helps. I hope I did the calculation right....lol

oh well, too late, I went ahead and bought them. I have been looking for 16's for awhile and didnt want to let these get away. I guess Ill find out if they fit or not when they get here (fingers crossed). If not, I guess I'll sell them off.

I'll let you know. I would guess that +40 on an 8 inch wheel might rub on the inside but that's just a guess. +25 is equal to about 1" of space. I'm praying that mine will fit (maybe with a slightly stretched tire). These are the wheels I purchased. I should have them in about 2 weeks.

Where did you see this? I was going to go this route, but from my research I established I would need a 1" spacer on the rear to fit the FD wheels, and a 2" spacer on the front. So, I went a different route.

I have 16x8 on the rear on my SA. It has a GSLSE rearend, but Moser 5 lug axles. IIRC, the backspacing is 24 or 25.

Here are some pics:

I had some rubbing issues when I was running the setup in the last pic. They were 225/50. The others are 215/40, but I would like something inbetween those two.

I think that is what my Panasports are. 16x8 with a 20 something offset.
Gsl-se pattern on my SA track car.

Thanks for the replies guys! That first pic looks about right. Very nice! IF my wheels look like they will work once they get here, I will probably run 215's.

I was under my car today and there is actually quite abit of room on the inside. +40 just might work for you depending how flush you want them to look. My wheels don't ship from Japan for about 2 more weeks so I'll probably have them in about 3 weeks. I'll post up once I fit them.

They are Work Equips. They need some work, but I plan on eventually pulling them apart, they are 3 piece, and making them wider when I go with flares. That is in the distant future though. I need to finish school.

I believe this style is Reverse Mesh? From what I have been told, the Full Reverse mesh has the faces going all the way out to the lips? These have the small gap between the edge of the face and the lip (similar to ex-c). I prefer this style to the full reverse mesh (if reverse mesh is what I think it is) because it gives the illusion of a slightly larger lip. I'll PM you regarding where I found them. I may be going to Japan early next year if you have any requests. If I can find how to send a container back I might be willing to fill it up with wheels.

here's a little better explanation taken from hondatech of what I was trying to describe with reverse/full reverse. So basically, a +25 Reverse Mesh wheel will appear to have a bigger lip than a +25 Full Reverse Mesh

Full reverse wheels have 16" centers on 15" wheels. The standard reverse has a 1/2" gap all around between the face and the true lip surface.

The disadvantage of the full reverse is that the lip appears smaller because the small step is hidden. The advantage is the larger face design.

There are full reverse mesh all the way up to 17". Most of the Takechi Project (superfin, supermesh) seem to be full reverse.
