Ran fine this morning but now after doing some work on my stereo only turns over, it has spark and is getting gas just wont start. This is my daily driver so its kind of urgent. Please help

 

did u try some starting fluid????

 

no dont have any....

 

could it be something electrical cuz i was messing with that alot, i doubt it but it could be....

 

double check all your wiring u did.

if u get some starting fluid and motor oil, try taking off the upper intake manifold and pour alittle motor oil down all four intake pipes. bolt it back on and give it a couple shots of starter fluid. after that it should run. o and dont worry if the car pumps out some white smoke when u start it, its just burning off the oil

well this ones a 13b would it make a differance? could it be carbon locking? or is that not something to worry about?

 

did you unplug any fusible links? check the ones that say EGI. how is your spark?
are all the fuses good?

 

also, take out your spark plugs wipe them dry with a rag or use some compressed air. put the plugs back in. try to start the car

 

iv checked all of the fuses and all dryed the spark plugs, all of that, they all have spark, im gonna go try taking off the intake manifold see if i can try something, maybe alcohol or gasoline...

it wont make a diff if its a 12a or 13b, the oil helps it make compression and th starter fuild with give it a little boost to help it start

 

ok i just tryed to take off the intake manifold but i think i did it wrong cuz it wouldnt come off, i think its a bigger job than something to do in like 20 mins at night.... its 10pm where im at

 

it was actually pretty nice here this afternoon but its rediculously cold at night, makes working on my car alot less pleasant.

when you cleaned the spark plugs, did you try to start it again? Check your plugs again, if they are very wet, keep them out and spin the motor for 5 seconds.

 

Fastest way to get it started when it floods:
1. Pull your plugs, clean them with carb cleaner and let them air dry indoors.
2. Pull the fuse for the fuel pump, should be the top right but check the legend
3. Spray crab cleaner into the primarys and secondarys
4. Spray carb cleaner into the top two spark plug holes (if it dosen't leak out the bottom, spray them too)
5. Put a rag in front of the plug holes and crank the engine with your head out the window until the distinct whooshing noise of carb cleaner and gas stops (usually 15-45 seconds)
6. Clean out the plug threads. Put the plugs and fuse back in.
7. Start it, full choke, DON'T pump the pedal, when it starts to sputter to life put the pedal to the floor and don't let up until it starts.

Im gonna have to try that tomorrow, it sounds like it is flooded, its been just turning. Its too dark and cold to do now.

The colder it is, the more likely it is to flood, if you have a battery charger it's wise to slap that on to make sure you have the most juice out of it as possible. Mine floods all the time, I have unflooding it down to an art.
