GSL SE tranny shifter has bad springs?
HI guys i have got an GSL SE transmission with a parts car awhile back that i plan to put in along withe GSL SE undercarriage into my car soon. Anyway, its shifter doesnt want to return the the middle on its own when its in neutral, if i put it between 1-2 gear it will stay there and not return itself to between 3-4 like the spring for it doesnt work. Is this an easy fix? It shifts into the gears easily enough so i dont think the tranny needs a rebuild and im wanting to use it over my GS transmission for its better gear ratios.

It's an easy fix. There is a spring/clip that sits around the shiftier block. It's a fiddle\y job but not bad

This came up recently in this thread 1st gen specific 1/27/20 "RX7 GSL-SE sudden shifting problem" Look at post #6 for how to proceed, part# for replacement listed. You can have shifter out in a minute or so.If spring is not broken may be issue with shift rails being oxidized/rusty. The shifter turret is supposed to have hypoid oil in it to lubricate moving parts. It may have drained out from trans sitting around sideways.
