Cages?
Does anyone have this cage? if so what do you think. I'm putting it in a street-able track car kind of build. https://swracecars.com/product/rx7-m...oint-roll-bar/

That's not a bad price for a cage at all! Would be interested to see what the reviews on it are. I know I personally don't like the Autopower bolt-in cage location for the FB's, as it's basically impossible to install in a street car and wouldn't be safe for the street whatsoever. Curious to see if anyone has used this particular cage though, definitely looks like a viable option for someone wanting to race an FB.

Couple of thoughts. First, the tubing is not DOM it is ERW and while this is apparently OK for the NHRA it is not a legal material for the SCCA, NASA and possibly other road racing organizations. 20+ years ago this stuff was SCCA legal and old race cars with it are grandfathered but not anymore. Second, the tubing is heavier than it needs to be. SCCA road racing spec for a car as light as an RX7 is 1.5" .095 wall DOM which is considerably lighter. So you might see if they have some options built out of DOM in a lighter material. Finally, if you intend on tracking this car, get your hands on rule book before you spend any money on your car. You can download the latest rule sets from the SCCA and NASA for free.
Autopower cages are fine but are also built out of heavier DOM tubing. The problem with bolt in cages is that how they attach to the car is not as strong as something that is welded in.
