gsl-se stock stereo?

so my stereo turns on. All the lights turn on, the antenna goes up and down etc. But there is no noise coming from the speakers.... not even static. So i took my seat out the other day and there is one of those plastic plugs under there thats not attached to anything?

I thought there was supposed to be an amplifier under my seat? If there is then thats my problem hehe

there should be an amp under the driver seat and another behind the driver storage bin. if you have the top of the line sound system then the joystick should connect to your amps

The amps are in the bins only ... and as mentioned, if the cables where the power window bezel is are not hooked up to the joystick part that is suppose to be there, no sound will come out.

Stock Radio

Does any one work on these boxes or does everyone just replace them. I get a loud pop whenever I turn it on or off. cassette doesn't play clearly either.

replace. It's big, heavy, and obsolete.

Oh, and both amps are in the storage bins, one per side. The wiring runs from the console to the joystick, then down under the driver's seat, across to the door jam, back to the left side bin. One set of wires terminates in the left amp while the other continues across to the right amp. Both amps are bolted to the verticle metal wall just under the bins.

Any tips on a good stock-looking replacement system?
