GSL-SE rev problem

What would make the motor rev on its own between
1500 and 2500 intermittently. It did it once about 2 months ago when I took an hour drive. I shut the 7 off and turned it back on and it went away.
Well, today it did it again when I took an hour drive but did it on and off all day. The car is only driven about 10 miles eveyday and hardly goes on long trips.
Both times it has done this it was after hard driving.
Today me and a honda accord were getting on it, and then it started again when we stopped at the red light.
With it reving we had a punk in his dad's Lexus join in on the run. We the 7 took the accord and I out drove the Lexus.
As of right now the 7 is fine and idles at 900.

The fuel filter was changed about 100 miles ago, and I am running premix in the gas.

Its usually from a vacuum leak, to bad solenoids or sticking 6- port actuators.

I would check the TPS and see if it is adjusted.

Mine was doing this and it turned out to be the 2 barrel shaped vacume solenoides just below the BAC valve. I replaced them(There connected together) and that soved the problem. I'd set your TPS first and check for vacume leaks.
Check out the below link:

Make sure you download the Mitchell Manual. It's great!

The most likely problem is either the throttle or TPS is sticking.

My car was doing the EXACT same thing. I just gave her most of a can of throttle body cleaner on the TPS and all over the rest of the intake system...

Checked my TPS and it was out. Made me the little handy test light and dialed in my TPS. Ran the car, came back rechecked the TPS. Hope this solves the problem.
Really do not want to try and find a set of the Solenoids that Gump had to replace for his fix.

Thanks to all for the ideas and help.
BTW- This problem seems to happen with the high mileage GSL-SE's. Mine is 172K
