I thought GSL-SE's did not come with p/s? The one I drove did not have it at least.

I don't think so. (think)

I think the bracket that holds it is different. the FC has rack and pinion also, which is a bad sign for interchangeability.

Could be wrong.

The pumps look awfully similar, but I've never bothered to compare mine to an FC pump side by side. (P/S was optional on '84-85 GSL and GSL-SE models. *Every* Series 3 GSL I have seen had power steering and cloth interior, maybe because it was the cheapest way to get P/S and some people are afraid of manual steering)

Pump failure is very common. The pump shaft uses a little clip to control end-play, and this lasts about as well as you could imagine. There was a company that was rebuilding and upgrading the pumps about 10 years ago, I think by the name of Sun Auto. Specializes entirely in rotary Mazdas. Cannot find a link, but they appear to be in PA.

Ps

The pumps are entirely different. The pulley, pulley shaft and the bolting design are all different. I know, I have being trying to get mine running right. I do know that you can change the mount and run a second gen pump on the FB. Provably will have to change the hoses as well.

(If your friend gets one of yours give him my user name to see if he would sell me the pulley to his old one)

Hey here's a question for jg1bad10th.

Where's the rest of my parts that I bought from you man. It's been a month... I know you get my pm's. Please don't make me post in the forums for you to answer me back. If I don't get that bracket and pulley than I can't do my P/S swap. If your in the cars pulling P/S pumps you have the time to pull off a Bracket and the pulley that goes to one of the P/S Pumps. I also still need the bolts so I can put it all together. If you can't get me these parts than everything you sold to me is useless. I paid $150 plus shipping to get these parts and you don't even have the courtesy to PM me back. So far I've sent THREE PM's that you haven't answered me back on. Hit me up.
