GSL-SE Gastank in 80 Chassis

I have put my GSL-SE gastank in my 80 rx7 project car. The motor is going to fuel injection. I almost have everything done, including modifying the spare tire well, except the gas level sensor. The GSL-SE tank has 3 pins and the plug connector on the 80 chassis has 2 pins. Does anyone know what wires to connect?

What did you have to do to make the 85 tank fit? Did you cut the spare tire hole?

Had a second to look at the diagrams. The extra wire on the '85 tank is for the low fuel warning light, you can leave it disconnected.
'85 wires, tank side of connector:
Yellow/blue is warning light
Yellow is to the gauge
Black is ground

'80 wires, car side of connector:
Yellow is to the gauge
Black is ground

So just match the colors and don't worry about the yellow with blue stripe.

gonzz: I cut it out and then put it back it from the top not so deep and then notched the excess metal and then hammered it flatand welded it all up. Let me know if you are interested in pics.

Frankenrex: thanx for the help!

I installed a gslse tank in my 79 and did not do any thing to the spare tire location. I just bought longer bolts. no need to cut anything.

Does it hang down any lower, and if so, how much?
