New problem discovered this weekend...

(84 GSL / 40k on a rebuild)

Ok, well, let's just say I JUST started pre-mixing this Sunday, because on Saturday it was discovered that my OMP was not working.... and since I have only had the car for about a month, I have no idea how long it's been out. So, long story short, I could care less about the OMP and I'll just continue the pre-mixing, but here's my questions...

1, do I need to do anything with the old/broken OMP, or just leave it there?

2, is there anything I need to look for as far as possible problems for it running for at least, several thousand miles before discovering the OMP wasn't working?

Thanks in advance!

-Jeff

If it breaks, well, it did something... if not, you're good. Just keep pre-mixing!!

just let the old pump ride. It shouldn't hurt anything. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

do you have a cat? premixing with a cat could destroy the converter.

The converter is on it's way out anyway... I've disconnected the smog pump for the extra power... it's about to be taken off, so it's not a big deal.

I would take the omp off and make a block-off plate. its real easy. took me about 30 mins in all.

BTW, the little drive gear thing that you can see when you take the omp off is not removable. someone told me you could just pull it out. and umm......you cant

What about the MOP is broken? I was ready to go the premix road, then got inspired by godofredo's "Brown Mound" rebuild, and ordered the MOP rebuild kit - good as new, and much less blue smoke. (I do miss that smell, though...)

I rebuilt my pump and i'm glad i did...in nj you can't pump your own gas so its kinda awkward getting out the car to put oil in when getting gas out here
