Gsl-se Fuel Problems

Help. I Have Been Having Trouble With My Gsl-se. It Seems To Bog Out Between 3000 And 5000 Rpms. It Wil Be Fine For A While But If Im Low On Gas Or Going Up Hills It Wants To Bog Out. Almost Like It Is Just Running On 1 Rotor. My Timing Is Set I Have Cleaned All The Intake And Did A Seafoam Treatment, Changed Fuel Filter, Emtied Tank And Put Fresh Gas In, Adjusted Tps, And Some Other Things. My Ignition Is Good And I Have Full Compression. I'm Thinking Fuel Pump But Not Sure. Please Help Me Out If You Can. Thanks.

He just replaced it.

I'll do more brain storming when I get back in a hour or so.
My brain is pounding since I have been diagnosing with members for the past couple of hours.

Check out the condition of the fuel pick-up tube in the tank. A small hole in it will suck air in the situations you describe. One member recently mentioned this.

Good Idea Wich One Is The Pickup Tube? My Fuel Pressure Is Fine. If This Was The Problem Wouldnt It Effect The Fuel Pressure? The In Jectors Are Clean And A Fairly New Pulsation Damper And Fuel Pressure Regulator.

New Plugs And Wires. All Ignition Seems To Be Good. Just Set Timing And Even Tried A 180' On The Distributor. I Thought It Was The Injectors At First But I Have Cleaned And Tested Them Both.

My first thougt is fuel pump, a few years back my SE was doing the samething. It started getting fuel starvation between 4k-5k rpms, losing all power and sometimes stalling out. Car would start back up, sometimes ran fine all the way to redline other times I could continue to duplicate the condition. The condition started to get worse, starving out lower into the rpm range. Finally one night on my way home from work I had to keep it under 2k rpms just to be able to pull it into a gas station and walked the rest of the way home. At that point the pump was making so much noise I opened the door, stuck my head under the car and said to myself " so thats what's wrong with my car".

Yep One Day It Was Making A Funny Sound. So My Next Question Is Where Do I Get One For A Reasonable Price, And Are They The Same For The 12a I Have An 81 Gs 12a I Might Use It If It Will Fit? If Not Where To Get One New? Is There Anything Else It Could Be?

I got my new one from Advance for something like $100. At the time it came with a lifetime warranty but has since gone to a one year deal. Good thing I keep my receipts.
