GSL-SE front brakes on GSL?

I'm looking to put 17" wheels on my `85 GSL, and as you know, the 110mm bolt pattern is just not gonna work. I already have the rear figured out, just need to see about getting the 4x4.5" pattern up front. Can I just swap GSL-SE front rotors onto my GSL spindles, or is there more to it? I tried searching already, but I just get a ton of matches, yet none of the threads that "match" tell me what I need to know. Thanks

a tried and true method is to take the whole SE strut assembly off and put it on.. i think it's 6 bolts, my buddy just got through doing it..

I have read that the Front spindle on the 84 - 85 cars are all the same, But I dont know for sure. The other question would be, is the caliper mounting bracket the same on all the 84 - 85 cars

If you have a 79 - 83 then you need to change out the spindles.

I just happen to have a full SE front setup for sale.

hades that is my understanding for the 84-85 models yes spindle is the same but the the backing plate and all that is different i'm assuming. I'm guessing the best route would be to buy a junked GSL-SE suspension or go to sevensonly.com and buy they're kit for ~$800 which includes everything needed.

The SE front brakes will require you to change the rotors, calipers and backing plates. If you have an 84-85,its a direct swap.If you have and older car, youll need to swap in 84-85 struts to get the right spindle.
Also, the SE brakes stick out more,so youll need to choose wheels with more backspacing, to prevent fender rub.
If you need them,I have a full used SE front brake set for sale.Rotors, calipers and backing plates.40 bucks, but shipping could be as much as 50-60 bucks because of the weight.
