GA GSL-SE FAQ's?

I have a GSL-SE and I would REALLY like to find out some specific information on it. I have questions on TII swaps and what kind of mods I could do as far as building engines and possibly switching to carb or maybe some aftermarket engine management. Also trans swap (w/ newer cars) questions. I searched but I cannot find much information much less an FAQ dedicated to the car, haha.

If you guys have some links or something I'd appreciate it. Or I can just flood the forums with infinite questions.

Any help is appreciated guys, I love this car but know nothing about rotary tech on a 13b powered FB!

I've been through that man. I'm talking about GSL-SE specific (if it exists).

I guess I'll just keep searching then start posting threads.

if you have specific questions, then now would be the time to ask them.

aside from the 13B and fuel injection, mechanically, there is little difference between the SE and other FBs. so there is nothing to REALLY warrant and SE-specific FAQ section. so without specific questions that are not covered by the FAQs or other threads, you'll have to ask to receive answers.

as for the questions you did have:

1. T2 swap - there is a huge archived thread, read it. getting the motor in the car is the easy part. you mentioned aftermarket EMS, so wiring it up to work will be up to your (or your mechanic's) capabilities. most of the popular EMS are supported on the board by their own sections. specific questions can be posted there. you also mentioned carburetors. i've never really seen the point to getting a turbo motor and 86-ing the fuel injection, but ... to each, his own. it can be done and it's documented enough on the board.

2. Building engines - this is totally up to what you're willing to learn and what you're capable of. there are a few tools that you'll need, but aside from that, a rotary can be disassembled and reassembled with metric sockets and wrenches. i won't go into details, but a general synopsis is (a) disassembly, (b) cleaning, (c) measuring, (d) cleaning again, (e) reassemble. obviously new seals and springs will need to be acquired and properly clearanced. my point is it's relatively easy if you know how the motor works and you put in the time and effort.

3. Carburetor or aftermarket EMS - the thing about the SE's fuel injection is it's fairly primitive, so it's pretty easy to do a carburetor conversion. you don't have to source an aftermarket distributor. adding aftermarket EMS is the same as any other FB.

4. Transmission - all rotary engine rear housings share the same transmission bolt pattern. that said, although the stock transmission will bolt up to the engine (you'll have to work out your flywheel/clutch and starter issues), you'll probably want to get a T2 tranny - most people do. you'll need to get a driveshaft made or modified. if i recall, Directfreak's original build thread detailed it and had photos (though they might be "X'd -out" now.

hope this gets you started.

All this has been covered and you just need to use the advanced search function and weed out.

Use Gsl-Se in your search terms. Also TII swap.
Transmission interchange for trans information.

It's all there.
