GSL-SE carb OMP question

I just picked up a rebuilt GSL-SE 13B 6-port engine, my plan is to run a Weber 48 IDA on it, is it possible to run the OMP with it? Also, can I use the stock throttle and choke cable on the 12A on the weber? Do I need to get bigger size fuel lines?

For mounting the engine, would it just bolt right up since I am using the mount bar from the GSL-SE

Sure it's possible. You've got 4 OMP lines with a banjo bolt on the end so that manfiold vacuum is used to suck the oil down the lines, assisting the OMP. You can either plumb those lines into your carb manifold along with the vacuum spider to support them, or you can just fit an OMP from a 12A on there with two lines and no vacuum.

I'd go with with a 12A OMP, but not sure how hard it is for you to find one.

By the way, I need airbox brackets and other hardware, so I'll call dibs on your RE-EGI hardware

If your carb has provisions for 2 mop lines, you can run all 4. You still need to make a new mop rod. Don't know which carb you're installing but I had to make a new rod for the Mikuni. The 1st gen rods are too short so I rebent one from a 2nd gen. The hole in the mop lever will need to be drilled out as the 2nd gen rod is larger in diameter.

I plan on installing a Weber 48 IDA. Does it have the 2 provisions you talk about?

I have a 12A on the car right now, so i have the parts for the 12A OMP, do i need to use the 12A front cover also?

What hardware do you need from the RE-EGI?

You can use either the 12A or SE front cover, only difference is the 2 and 4 tube mop. I have no idea if your carb has mop barbs or the arm for the mop rod. If you don't know either, post pics of the forward side of the throttle shaft for the arm and look for 1/8" barbs going to the fuel bowls or the intake for the mop lines.

The 12A and SE front covers aren't the same, but either can be used. The SE uses an o-ring to seal the OMP to the cover, whereas the 12A cars use a gasket. You can use a 12A OMP and gasket on there to keep it simple.

If I were doing it, I'd probably just run the 12A pump Info your intake manifold. You'll need to drill and press the fittings into the manifold, or you could even use the injection ports on the rotor housings if you want to go that route.

If you're not set on the IDA, you could use a sidedraft carb with your stock lower intake manifold. This way, you could keep the aux ports and run the stock 4-line OMP.

Not sure if you have heard of pre-mix but that may be a simplier option for you. =]

So did you run pre-mix or did you run the MOP? =]

It would be cool to see some pics of how you ran the MOP if you did oil injection.
