GSL OE fuel pump a mitsubishi unit?
I'm trying to determine if the stock pump is made by Mitsubishi. Actually I have a mitsu pump on the car and am wondering if it is original. It simply looks too clean to be as old as the car. Any way to tell?

I would be curious to know this, since replacement SE fuel pumps are selling at $350 at Mazdatrix, and there may be another way to get one more cheaply than that.
If it's made by Mitsubishi and you can find a part number on it - it might save some money when I go to try and find a replacement.
As it stands, whenever anything breaks on my SE, I try to replace the parts with upgraded parts, or buy new - this is since I intend to keep the car for the forseeable future, and I want it to be in the best shape possible so I don't have to worry about a used, replacement part breaking down somewhere.
For this reason, I would bite the bullet and pay $350 for a new Mazda SE fuel pump if I thought there was no other way to get Mazda quality. I mean, hey, my stock SE pump has already gone 174,000 miles and 20 years - who can complain about that if the new pump lasts as long?!?

Almost *all* of the electronics that Mazda used in that timeframe were Mitsubishi.
Most Japanese car electronics are made by either Mitsubishi or Hitachi. Nissan and Subaru are Hitachi for sure... hell Hitachi even made the rear diffs for them!

Actually I am curious because I have a Holley Blue that I will be running since I am in the process of building a peripheral port 12a. I plan on selling the pump that is currently on the car. I need to know what it is in order to sell it. I can email some pics if anyone happens to be interested. Of course I will eventually post it in the for sale section.

It's original if it's Mitsubishi.
It's also almost completely worthless. I have a stock pump around here somewhere, I use it to siphon gasoline. Just clip the leads to 12V power and away it goes at about 10gph. Great way to drain a fuel tank before removing it.
