Grumpy gauges and bright red lights

Ok on my way home from work tonight it was cold so i ran my heater for the first time. All seemed well so i go out later and start my ca and i was greated by a weird tach and three red lights {oil gen and water} the tach seems to just be reading volts it will hold at 6k when at idle and when im driveing it will go as high as 8k all seems well while driveing and my car started right back after about a 20 min drive so there seems to be no chargeing issues oil and water are fine also so if any1 has aany insight i would love to hear it ty in advance for any replys
