Put it in 1st or 2nd then in reverse and that will help aleviate that. Sounds like you need to bleed the clutch system

Pretty much normal for all older jap trannies. No synchros on reverse, so you utilize the synchros in 1st prior to moving the shifter to reverse.

Clutch in/1st gear/reverse/clutch out..... Make it a habit so you don't even have to think about it.

Blake once suggested going into 5th then reverse. I tried it recently and it worked better than forcing it in and getting that clunk.

actually selecting any gear before going to reverse will stop the gears from turning.

If you want to spend some money and have a real cool sounding tranny you can always do what i did.

Take the internal assembly out have the gears and shafts made from titanium and do a cut gear style it sounds really wicked and there is no chance of shattering a gear.

Only down fall is the fluid i use is thick and the synchos dont like it.

Kentetsu has head my tranny, i like the sound but i dont know what he thinks.
