got some quick questions i wish to clear up
my gf just got a 84 GSL-SE and i got 3 different problems one being the funky idle which i've read in the archives to be an air leak somewhere due to my certain symptoms and i dont really need help with this one just yet lol
my 2nd is the brakes and clutch, they work great, but the pedals have no pressure what could be the cause of this? i was thinking of taking the master cylinder out of our parts car and getting a new slave cylinder for the clutch as the previous owner told me he tried bleeding the brakes numerous times with the same results every time
and the 3rd is how the hell am i going to get rid of that mess of a rats nest lol i read the FB guide to removal but its for the 12A, do the same principals apply to the 13B? couldn't imagine so because of the ECU relying on the various sensors i want to get rid of but i could be wrong
any help would be awesome i've been reading through the archives trying to learn as much as possible and im continuing my research just thought if someone new a quick trick or had some tips they could share the wealth haha

Do not mess with the rats nest. Unless you are going to race, the only thing you want to remove is the air pump and ACV (using the stock ECU). And you should only do this if you have a free flow exhaust.

I understand. I don't have emissions testing here in PA either. But it's not about emissions, it's about your SE running properly. With the stock ECU, there isn't much you can delete. The sensors functioning doesn't hurt anything. The big HP gains come from a free flow exhaust, which allows you to ditch the air pump and ACV. I have read on this forum of guys that removed some or all of the rats nest on their SE with the stock ECU and had a lot of problems.

ah well thats what i figured although do you happen to know if FCs are any different? im new to rotarys but i did ride/drive a TII FC (just gonna say one of the funnest cars i have ever driven PERIOD) this summer and he had removed the rats nest on a stock ECU and had little problems
and i forgot to add my gfs SE has a bad fuel float can i get one from a FC since the ones from the FBs seem to fail? i did read the thread on how to rebuild the FB float but i would rather just get a FC float to remedy that whole problem

The rats nest on the Fc's are almost the same, especially 86-88. You did say that your gf's 7 is an SE, right? I'm asking because you were talking about a float. SE's and all 2nd gens are FI and do not have floats like carbs, unless you are talking about the float in the gas tank (sending unit)?

No problem. The fuel sender going bad in our cars is pretty common. You're going to have to replace it. It's not as bad of a job as you might think. Let me know if you're going to do it, and I'll give you some tips. First, make sure that it is the sender. If you have power to the sender, and your connections are good, then it's probably the sender. I assume your fuel gauge is fine.

im 99% sure its the sender as the previous owner (had the car quite a while) had swapped out the old one and he said the gauge started working again for 2.5 months then the gauge died again i read the how to rebuild thread so i guess if worse comes to worse i will just suck up and take the one out of the parts car and have at it lol
