got my whole setup ready!!, what you think?
first i'd like to thank wackeyracer, jeezus, cb performance, and my local Lowe's. The setup is a rb dellorto 48mm dhla with a one piece sidedraft intake. I got the carb in fairly good condition at a great price, pulled it apart and rebuilt it and rejetted it. polished the lid. got the intake, wirebrushed it, tapped the mop barbs. just waiting for racing beat gasket in the mail for it to go on. any good step by steps for putting one of these things on? step by step?

Take the measurements of how big of a filter you can get, when I bought mine the first time, I got it too big.

I just had mine off the carb! Did you want a pick of it on mine? With mine, the bracket is attached to the bottom of the air filter assembly.
Brookings isn't to far from Omaha, ever come down? I have seen it on my yearly trip to Park Rapids.
Oh and for a step by step.. got to gruntled.com they have the original RB install directions copied.

LOL well I got a set of 4.444's from mazda trix years ago, when I tore apart my gears... Made first gear feel like a truck gear, only used it from dead stops and racing, it sucked for autocross sort of. It accelerated great but it seemed like the gearing always screwed me.
I noticed a bit of a performance increase (5th and 6th ports were closed) enough to keep up with a 12a with mikuni vs my gsl-se with headers. Honestly though, id do a lighter flywheel first, but its nice taking the pumpkin out and rebuilding her.. I think I can recall driving on I-80 doing the speed limit of 75 and being at like 3,500- 4,200 rpms in 5th gear didn't want to speed lol.

Screw the mixture screws in all the way, then unscrew them about 3 1/2 turns, adust the idle and accel screws from there till you get a good idle. Then time the car, then mess with your carb again... And you can expect to spend more money on gas and some oomph.

any ohter screw settings i need to know, also, i can see how the bracket is on the gruntled instructions but does any one have the measurements of: inches back from base of air cleaner plate to even with braket(blue arrow) and from level with the filter up to center of the throttle hole (green arrow). also hole size for cable on the braket (purple)?

I have seen so guys use an alternator bracket reformed and used as a throttle bracket. Not the best look but it worked very well.
From what i remember, you bend the braket into an "L" shape and bolt it down to the rear plate were the flywheel cover is. If I find a pic of some cars at the track with this "custom" bracket I will post it for you.
