That black paint burns off, right? It's just a coating? Just curious.

My muffler is still black.

When did they start using rolled edge tips? I like the angled ones like mine better.

i was curious about this myself. i think it was manntis that posted a pic of his car and exhaust, and i notcied it there. also missing is the trademark red paint in the resonators/tips that turns to "carbon dust-black" over time ... i still love the old-style, but this is pretty cool, too.

i think the paint lasts according to how you treat it. i've seen some that have rusted (though they still sound good), and on the other end of the spectrum, my brother's is 14 years old and counting and still has black paint on it ...

nice purchase rotormotordriver ... trust me, you'll be very happy!

I guess the same people made all their exhausts. They used to outsource the turbo-back exhausts to RS*R, but recently they started producing them themselves (I think).

Yeah, it was "the missing piece". After i get this installed, I can take her for a spin. I have the rest of the RB exhaust, but I've never dirivn with it (been waiting for this). I CANT WAIT .

Ummm...How? The "chrome" looks like just polished stainless steel. Kinda like the whole thing is made out of stainless, and then they paint it black after they polish the tips. When I got the muffler, they still had the tips masked off from when they painted it...I could be wrong, but it just looks like the paint would come off before the metal looses its polish .

~T.J.

EDIT: To clarify more...The metal tips are just the natural metal from the muffler (polished?), the black is the paint. Theres no coating to burn off on the tips.
